The Mineer Name

Posted in Blogroll, Google at 3:58 pm by mmineer

Well, I have been slacking by not adding anything to this blog now for about 2 months.  I need to improve or the Mineer name will be taken over my Ancestry.com, which is not what we want.

As of late I have been getting about a weekly post which is always fun.  My father’s cousin recently contacted me and so did my cousin in Florida (that is where she was last time I heard her).

So the Mineer blog has been serving a good purpose as of late because; first of all – I am number one on Google.  Number 2, it is helping me learn how to get other, more important, domains to the top of Google.   Right now the focus is the website www.constructionleadjournal.co, which is a money making website for me.  In just the last two weeks I have gone from out of the top 1,000 on Google to number 188 on Google.  If I break the top 10 then all heck will break lose when it comes to my income.

This is a short Mineer blog post but I will add more later – and sooner than this blog came around.  Have a great day and Long Live The Mineer’s.

New SEO Knowledge

Posted in Blogroll at 2:28 am by mmineer

I have been horrible at this blog and seldom write. You can, however, rest assured that I at least think about blogging almost everyday. Unfortunately, I learned early on how to procrastinate and have now spent 20+ years trying to break the habit. The Mineer name is a bad omen and therefore I am fighting even more than most people have to in order to break this habit. It goes well beyond this Mineer and as far as I know probably goes back many generations.

Yet, after all is said and done, by simply repeating my name a few times I am able to continue to be more highly ranked by the search engines. That is why, as you read, you will see Mineer pop-up a little more than it probably should. I am simply keyword dropping and doing what I can in order to climb the ladder of SEO trickery.

Even though the blogs are few and far between I have been learning quite a bit and am now ready to tackle my next feature – blogging for the keyword phrases of construction leads, bid on construction projects, and construction job. My new website is designed to sell subscription to my fathers company, (David Mineer Sr) which publishes a weekly listing of new construction leads in 20 metropolitan areas. So far nothing has happened but I have done very little to improve my ranking. We’ll see how it goes. Until then keep on doing more searches for all the Mineer people you know out there.

Why Blog Everyday?

Posted in Blogroll, Uncategorized at 7:44 am by mmineer

Well, according to the always evovling Mineer rules, the reason why you should blog everyday is because when you don’t – you drop.  Now, with a keyword like Mineer that is not that big of a deal.  However, if I were focusing on a larger (more popular) and more profitable phrase then taking 10 days off in a row like I have would actually do quite a bit of harm.  So to answer my question, you should blog everyday in order to show the search engines that you are an active, regularly updated, and personally attended to blog.  This is the case for those of you who are doing personal blogs and those of you who are trying to make some money.  Search eninges really like content and therefore really like updated blogs.  According to the great Boyd Norwood, who runs a Multi Level Marketing Success Blog, search engines will return more often if they find that your site changes often.

Why is this important?  If you can get the search engines to come back to your site on a regular basis (daily or close to it), then almost anything you decide to blog about will begin to be indexed by the search engines and you will be able to rank high more quickly on more words – even if it only is a low demand word (name) like Mineer.

From a personal perspective, I have noticed that when I go multiples days without updating my blog (or without blogging) I tend to drop from 4 to anywhere from 6 to 8 (the new number 4 doesn’t count because I own that domain name).  Therefore, if I would only take a few minutes a day to write a few small words then I would be able to keep myself on that first, non-scroll, page.

Until next time,
