I am not a Mineer, but I am a descendant of one. My Great, Great, Great, Great, Great Grandfather is Andrew Mineer. He was a talented Violinist , who had played for the King of Sweden. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1861 and crossed the Atlantic ocean in a ship called Monarch of the Sea. that same year he crossed the plains in Captain Jon Murdock's Company. He had a son Named August Emil Mineer, who married Francis Ann White. They had Eleven Children, one being Birdie Elizabeth Mineer, born April 11, 1874. In 1878 she and her family were called to move to Piute County, utah, then moved to Grass Valley in 1880. In 1882, Wilford Woodruff, called her family to settle in St. Johns , Arizona, along with 25 families. Joel William, Francis thomas White, and Andrew Mineer. Birdie Mineer went on to marry August Julius Lundquist of Snowflake, AZ. Birdie Mineer Lundquist is MY grandmothers , Grandmother. My grandfather, William G. Mineer was shot down in Holland in WWII. The family that helped him hide out was Dutch and the women's name was Maaike.
